This piece is similar to the post I made on my Week 1 Media page. It begs the question: Is diversity our strength? This is a very good question to ask because while a lot of people say diversity is a strength and allows for more culture, understanding, etc. with it comes a lot of issues. It seems as though this statement is incredibly subjective and varies on a case by case basis. In this article the author notes that while diversity may have been as asset years ago, it is increasingly become an issue. Goldberg references a liberal sociologist at Harvard named Robert Putnam who says,
"increased diversity corrodes civil society by eroding shared values, customs and institutions." At the end of the article the author asks is strength our greatest feature? What about freedom and liberty?
